Great Northern War Russians

Some figures I have just rebased so they will be ReG compatible - hopefully not misplaced faith in what will result with the rules  :P ;)

Figures are Minifigs.

I think your basing ought to be fine. My first unit was Venexia, which have disappeared for some years now. The castings were not very good and some broke of at the way-too-thin ankles. So two of the stands have only three figures instead of four. I had been pretty excited to find these, but it looks like the tooling is deteriorated. If it ever reappears, it might not be usable. Too bad, the original sculpts were great.

Not touched the Russians for a year but have no done another unit. Downside is that it makes me realise that the older ones need a new paint job ...

Any recommended manufacturers of GNW Russians? I saw Old Glory/Blue Moon but with the pictures on the website it’s a bit hard to see if they are any good.

Blue moon are nice .. but whoppers. Definitely 18mm. You won’t be getting 4 infantry per base.

My favourite are the old Mark Copplestone sculpts from Dixon. A bit of a limited range .

That said , at this scale you can get away with SYW .. if you’re not too fussy about turn backs
