Observations from Last Play Test Battle
« on: October 07, 2019, 05:56:48 PM »
Here are the notes we took.

    1.
BUA and Fields. This is the second time that we have had "BUA and Fields" and we do not really know what those are. Does each player get BUA and fields on each side of the table? Does one player have BUA and the other fields? If the former, is it one combined terrain piece, or two full size pieces each, or what? If the latter, must the BUA or fields be deployed touching? The other secured flank options use "or" instead of "and". Need some clarification.[/li][/list]

2. In the QRS it indicates that Professional commanders are only able to pass unlimited command cards to professional subordinates? Can they pass at least one?

3. This is from earlier battles. Does a secure flank River or Coast negate the nervousness from being in a flank? Should artillery be able to deploy in such a flank sector?

4. Points for Superior and Aggressive versus Average. As observed in a couple of our games, the Superior and Aggressive Gendarmes have flat run over the Average Condotta. Even with equal points on the frontage, the Sup/Agg Gendarmes are +2 across the board with Shatter.

Ok will tidy up BUA, idea was to essentially make it outskirts of a town, idea was one person put up BUA and the second could put down either another BUA or fields

Can pass as many as want to other professional generals

Secure flanks of whatever type stop nervousness and allow artillery and anything for that matter to be deployed in that area.

Will look at points for superior and aggressive

1. Ah, makes sense.

2. Oops. I didn't finish my sentence. Can a Professional pass any cards to Instinctive sub commanders?

3. That is how we've played it, but wanted to be sure of the intent.

4. There seem to be a lot of Superior and Aggressive cavalry in most lists. Maybe most should have one or the other. The quality, it seems, should go something like:

Average
Average, Aggressive
Average, Ferocious
Superior
Superior, Aggressive
Superior, Ferocious
Exceptional
Exceptional, Aggressive
Exceptional, Ferocious
