Wound markers

I think this counts as a modelling question.  What do people use as Wound markers?  I play in 6mm but interested in other scales. Micro-dice detract from the visual effect. I'm probably going to use a fallen ensign as a Moribund marker in Epico.

In 6mm I use the Baccus casualty figures. In 15mm I use markers ( just as I don't have figures !) figure markers are better I agree

I have some skulls mounted on pennies, very cheap from Amazon.

Figures would be great but costly as I tend to have a lot of wounds to deal with
